Teacup Tuesday
This pretty, delicate yellow rose teacup came from my grandmother.
On the bottom:
Ridgway Potteries Ltd.
1789 Royal Adderley
Fine Bone China
England
There are handwritten numbers on the bottom of most of my bone china cups. Does anyone know what they might mean? This one has something that looks like a # sign with 1439 after it.

Teapot Monday
This is a large, sturdy teapot painted with bright colors. Just looking at it makes me happy. It doesn`t have any markings underneath. I bought it at a discount store, and I love to use it in the summer.

Bring It Back? (Friday Feature - Old words that we should maybe bring back)
Today`s word is La. Just la.
Yes, it is used when singing songs from The Sound of Music, but it was also a form of interjection to mean surprise, grief, or mild wonder. Like saying "Oh" with eyebrows raised.
La was used this way in Anglo-Saxon times, which range from 400 AD - 1066 AD when William the Conqueror well...conquered. I think I`ll work this into my vocabulary while talking to my kids first. They might think it`s some X-Gen slang, when in actuality it is much older.

Teacup Tuesday
The perfect shamrock teacup to go with my St. Patrick`s Day teapot that I featured yesterday. This one came from my grandmother. It is an Aynsley Bone China teacup made in England.
My tea buddy, Kathy, always uses this cup when she comes over for tea. It`s so fun to have a number of teacups from which guests can choose.
Do you ever have someone over for wine or tea or just to chat? Building community with those people you like and with whom you feel safe is very important <3
